the heyman ceter for the humanities at columbia university is offering a mouth-watering program in the spring. of many interesting events, I will just highlight a few:

(march 27) HAYDEN WHITE and MICHAEL TAUSSIG on”Meaning and Method in History”

(april 23) JACQUES RANCIÈRE and W.J.T. MITCHELL on “The Future of the Image”.

further update on spring courses

for those who haven’t finalized their spring schedules yet, there are new courses from columbia (will slauter, stefan andriopoulus), the new school (orit halpern), and nyu (aram sinnreich). reading lists for slauter and sinnreich are posted on the page too. all looks very interesting.

the page with spring 2008 courses has been updated with info about columbia, new school, and nyu offerings. somebody please send me lists of teacher´s college and rutgers courses, will you?

also, have added a page for calls for papers. they can be posted on the comments page. five already are. we will see how well that format works.
