there is relatively little going on over the summer, so we will mainly quietly prepare a ‘courses in new york, fall 2008’ page (please do send links and information!) and perhaps have an informal gathering sometime over the summer for those who are here. please do tell incoming graduate students about the site.

the ‘communication studies‘ page on wikipedia is not particularly impressive. I’ve added some history and Tom Glazier have fiddled a bit with some concepts. Anyone who can chip in an hour, please go do some collective PR, and leave your mark on the discipline…

new page, conference panels looking for panelists

further update on spring courses

for those who haven’t finalized their spring schedules yet, there are new courses from columbia (will slauter, stefan andriopoulus), the new school (orit halpern), and nyu (aram sinnreich). reading lists for slauter and sinnreich are posted on the page too. all looks very interesting.

the page with spring 2008 courses has been updated with info about columbia, new school, and nyu offerings. somebody please send me lists of teacher´s college and rutgers courses, will you?

also, have added a page for calls for papers. they can be posted on the comments page. five already are. we will see how well that format works.

the interactive telecommunications program at nyu are having their annual winter show december 16th and 17th—it is open to the public, free of charge, and all-around nice, interesting, and welcoming. check it out.
